Abstract

Freshwater lobster, which is obtained from inland waters and is among the export products with high commercial value; Crayfish, known in Türkiye, have an important place in aquaculture. The most important crayfish species cultivated are in three different families as Astacidae, Parastacidae and Cambaridae. In Türkiye, the narrow-clawed crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823), which is called Turkish crayfish in the Astaciade family, is distributed as a single species. Crayfish are ecologically important benthic organisms of the aquatic ecosystem in fresh waters and are catalysts of organic matter conversion. In this study, it was aimed to determine the biological and ecological characteristics of crayfish.
